The Greater Victoria Chamber of Commerce is known throughout British Columbia for its strong policy and advocacy work. The Board, CEO, and policy staff focus on developing policies to improve the business environment and lobby those policies to the appropriate government levels – municipal, provincial or federal.
The Greater Victoria Chamber also has a packed events calendar. We host approximately 85 events per year, ranging from bi-monthly CEO breakfasts and an ongoing Business Education Series, to special speaker luncheons featuring high profile business and political leaders, monthly networking functions and our annual business awards and golf tournament.
Victoria has a vibrant business economy, with the majority of business being small to medium size enterprises. Major sectors include tourism, high tech and knowledge based industry, education, and government with the sport sector emerging with excellent business opportunities.
As the voice and advocate for business, the Greater Victoria Chamber of Commerce continues to work on economic development initiatives to attract new business to the area and grow the businesses that are already here.
